Many of the speaking activities that we ask learners to carry out, where the focus is on meaning rather than form, and fluency rather than accuracy, can now be readily captured and analysed by our learners using the voice recorders on their phones. Capturing their spoken output enables learners to reflect on how they speak English, to notice the gaps in their language, and to work to improve and expand their output. Training learners in the use of their recorders - giving them ideas and activities that they can use in their own time – demonstrates to them the value of their own output as a learning resource and empowers them to become autonomous learners. In this webinar we'll share four great activities for using a phone’s voice recorder in the language classroom.
